Developing Elswick Farm

BlogOliver01

Hello ! I’m Oliver Wilkinson.

Welcome to my blog where I will be sharing the process I have taken to converting what was once a very sad looking derelict Lancashire dairy farm, dating back to The 16th Century into a development of six residential homes. All very different in style. Some are new builds, others are conversions. I hope to tell you about the problems I will face and how I over come them share my journey developing property. I’m neither a builder or an architect just passionate about property and from watching Sarah Beeny, ‘Homes Under The Hammer’ presenters Lucy and Martin, ‘Grand Designs’ Kevin Mccloud and George Clarke. I decided to stop being the guy on the sofa watching others do this and brave it and tackle developing for myself.

From humble beginnings

Back in 2001 I co-purchased a wreck of a farm. It had one old farmhouse, lots of crumbling outer buildings, 56 acres of land but its saving grace was its stunning views far reaching over the Ribble Valley. This is how it looked in 2001.
